Glad you're here!
Throughout the year, LMCCC provides educational and outreach programs in support of our (pre-)teens' socio-emotional well-being. Together with our skilled clinicians, we'll work together to help mediate today's unique challenges that our teens face every day.
BUILDING CONNECTIONS
DO YOU KNOW A STUDENT THAT COULD BENEFIT FROM MORE CONNECTION WITH THEIR PEERS??
JBeginning this November, we will be offering a student program for kids that could use some support mediating social situations. Through Building Connections, students will work together with a PEERS(®)-trained counselor in a group setting to learn practical skills and strategies to navigate social settings. We’ll cover understanding social expectations, taking in others’ perspectives, starting and maintaining conversations, making and keeping friends, handling teasing, planning social activities and more. This program will take place on-site at the Counseling Center and is offered free of charge. Please sign up to express your interest by Oct 30 via email to Curbie Oestreich Cohen, LCSW: curbieo@communitycounselingcenter.org.
