COUNSELING AND THERAPY
Community Counseling Center staff provide counseling and therapy to help people resolve personal conflicts and emotional problems, as well as to manage everyday challenges, including relationships, making decisions, uncertainty about school and career, illness or death of a loved one, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse.

PARENT PROGRAMS
The parenting program, Staying Connected With Your Teen is a five-session interactive workshop that brings parents together with a skilled Counseling Center therapist to learn and practive skills for improving communication and building stronger bonds. These skills have been proven to help teens avoid the risks for drug abuse and other problems. The series of workshops are offered through out the school year in either mornings or evenings. There is no fee for participating in these workshops (funding is covered by the Drug Free Communities federal grant). Please call or email the Counseling Center if you are interested in participating.

Our 6th and 7th grade life skills curricula, in the Hommocks Middle School, helps children develop the skills to prevent substance abuse and other high-risk behaviors. Workshops and classroom presentations focus on communication skills, bullying prevention, and emotion management. Our weekly 8th grade Advocacy Groups help students develop skills for self-empowerment, self-expression, and healthy interpersonal relationships. We also provide programming for local area private and parochial schools.
